Let’s face it: there aren’t nearly enough “things” in vanilla Minecraft. The Things mod fixes this problem! Yes, you could argue that the items you get in-game are sufficient to enjoy the game, but what happens when you’ve acquired and crafted all of them? You’ll find yourself with nothing to do! Yes, that is a common occurrence among players, particularly in the early stages of the game. There aren’t many mods available; they added a few texture packs to make the game look a little different, but the items remained the same.

Gameplay eventually became monotonous, and a change was required in order for players to continue playing the game. There was only one solution, and that was to add more content to the game. Mods that add biomes and blocks to the game altered how players interacted with the game. Mods’ additional items gave them a new purpose, which led to more enjoyment. There’s no doubt that throughout the years, these earlier mods paved the way for developers to make more mods that not just add more stuff to do but give the game an even deeper meaning.

Stuff added arere both functional and entertaining

The mod we have here is called “Things.” Yes, “Things” is the name of the mod, and you guessed it, it adds new things to the game, giving it new items to craft and use. With that, new materials and recipes must be gathered, implying that the players must do new things in order to obtain the items. That alone makes this mod so cool, not only because it encourages players to play more, but also because the mod actually recreates the fun we had when we first played the game.

An overview of all items added by the Things mod for Minecraft
The Things mod is one of the mods that aim to add more gaming elements to Minecraft, and it does so effectively that installing the mod significantly expands the possibilities in the Minecraft world. Things include a variety of items that are both functional and entertaining. The Displacement Tome is one of these items. It is a clone of the Warp Book that allows you to teleport to up to 8 locations and uses Ender Pearls as fuel. When used, it resembles a blue magic book that provides both entertainment and utility.

More things to help you with your daily grind

The Hades Crystal is another item. It is a crystal that provides the user with indefinite fire resistance. This is extremely useful because fire damage is extremely difficult to manage because it damages you over time. Having this crystal takes care of that issue. Mossy Necklace is a simple design. It grants the wearer Regeneration II, which is extremely useful during boss battles. Mining Gloves speed up the process of mining by giving you Haste II. A Monocle provides constant night vision. And you float in water if you have an Enchanted Wax Gland. And many more opulent items await your acquisition!
