Dying in Minecraft can be a hassle, especially when you don’t remember exactly where you dropped your items. It can be really annoying when all we are trying to do is mine some materials, and then a creeper decides to blast us to dust. If you have been playing this game for quite long enough, you have most likely encountered similar scenarios several times. You start a new world, craft and build from scratch, and one in-game day you decide to go down a deep cave, and for whatever reason, you die. You try your best to track down where you died, so you could recover your pickaxe at the very least, but all you get is foliage that seems to be repeating itself.

Worry no more. The Gravestone mod solves this problem for you. The Gravestone mod makes it so that when you die, you get an obituary note that contains information like your name and the exact coordinates where you dropped your precious items.

The obituary also lists the item names and their exact number, so you can decide if the loot you dropped is worth retrieving or if it’s best to move on to a mining spot nearer to your base instead.

The Gravestone mod is pretty handy, especially for people who have problems navigating Minecraft’s vast worlds. Not everyone is skilled with memorizing location, but with this nifty mod, that isn’t an issue anymore. All you need to do is read the coordinates written in your obituary, travel to that location, and then once you get there, you’ll see a gravestone with your name written on it. Once you get to the gravestone, break it, then the items you dropped instantly return to your inventory.

This mod is a small file and does not eat too much of your computer’s resources, so anyone can run it. Just be sure to have Forge installed, as it is a prerequisite to running this mod.
